Stranger Things is, without a doubt, one of the biggest hits from Netflix’s original slate. And judging from its trajectory, it looks in no way that it is going downwards. Both the previous two seasons performed incredibly for Stranger Things.
Subsequently, Netflix gave a green signal for Stranger Things Season 3. And just as we accepted, it went on to break records Netflix. Stranger Things Season 3 garnered over 40 million households. And all that within a short span of just four days of its release.
And we think Netflix would be in no mind to stop Stranger Things just yet. Also, the cliffhanger ending of Stranger Things Season 3 adds on to this speculation. And even our insider sources have informed us that Stranger Things fans can relax as of now, cause there are indeed talks going on about Stranger Things Season 4.
However, then again, we also want to alert all the Stranger Things fans, that although they can be happy about the show’s renewal for Season 4. But it seems that Stranger Things Season 4 might also be the last and final season of Stranger Things on Netflix. And here’s another juicy speculation for the plot of Stranger Things Season 4, and this one is about the fan-favorite, Hopper (played by David Harbour):
Hopper in Stranger Things Season 4: Why are we not sure that Hopper is indeed, ‘The American’?
Stranger Things Season 3 left many questions unanswered with its epic but the intense cliffhanger ending. Stranger Things fans were heartbroken when their favorite Hopper met his tragic end while trying to close the rift to the Upside Down that was created by the Russians.
But then there was a special end credit scene that introduced ‘The American.’ And there are speculations going around that The Americans is none other than Hopper. Given he had escaped at the very last moments of the finale of Stranger Things Season 4. But based on David Harbour’s recent interview, we aren’t that sure anymore.
In the recent interview that has shaken up our previous conclusions, David Harbour said that initially, even he himself thought that his character, Hopper, who sacrificed himself at the end of Stranger Things Season 3, was, in fact, The American. The same character that was not seen. But referenced in the post-credit scenes of Stranger Things Season 3.
But he has confirmed that the creators of Stranger Things, Matt and Ross Duffer, alias – the Duffer Brothers, are yet to give him any details about Stranger Things Season 4. And The American character too.
As a result of this, Harbour has grown to be less sure about the possibility that Hopper being still alive and The American character too, the same one who is being held captive inside a facility in Russia, along with the Demogorgon. He also confirmed that although he was told about Hopper’s arc in Stranger Things Season 3. But there wasn’t any mention of The American. He too read about directly when read the script of Stranger Things.
He himself was confident that his character, Hopper, is only the American. But he is not that sure anymore. And thus, this is exactly why we are on the same page with him. Certainly, we, too, are not sure that Hopper is The American.
Stranger Things Season 4: Will Hopper be back in some other way? And who else could be the American?
There are speculations going around that Stranger Things Season 4 will have Hopper somewhere stuck in Upside Down. And Eleven will regain her powers back and eventually go on to save Hopper and bring him back.
Apart from this, we also have speculations about who could be the American. For instance, we place our bets on Dr. Martin Brenner, yes, the same one who was killed off in the first season; then, it could also be Murray Bauman or Kali Prasad or any of the other special children with powers who had escaped from the Hopkins Laboratory.
